Thielemann has been making handcrafted leather goods in the village of Leppersdorf, Germany since 1897. Today, this family tradition continues into the 5th generation. Manufacturing high-quality, durable and sustainable products is the essential philosophy behind the Thielemann brand. These aspirations are achieved by using traditional hand manufacturing techniques, stringent quality controls and carefully selected materials from within the European Union. Additionally, every part of a Thielemann product – be it leather, hardware or stitching – can be repaired or replaced, throughout its lifetime. Thielemann bags are not a consumable product, they are a long-term investment.

Thielemann products are made from high quality full-grain European cow leather. The vegetable tanning processes used allow for the environmentally-friendly production of nonhazardous and high quality leathers, according to stringent European Union standards. Low grade leathers such as split leather, polyurethane-coated leather and the like are not used.

All Thielemann leather products distributed by our company, Del Toro International GmbH, come with a 10-year quality warranty.  This covers all defects in workmanship, materials and components.  Should any quality-related defect arise within the warranty period, we will work with you to repair or replace your Thielemann product, at no cost to you and as quickly as possible.  Issues related to abuse, misuse or improper care are not covered by this warranty (i.e. dragging along ground, carrying heavy tools, not periodically conditioning leather, etc.).  Slight variations in color, wrinkles, insect bites or other small scars are not considered defects, but are proof that Thielemann uses 100% natural leather.  These inclusions add character and beauty to the leather and will enhance the patina acquired over time.

Please keep in mind, after the warranty period has ended, any part of your Thielemann product can still be repaired or replaced, including buckles, straps, stitching and individual leather pieces.  But no worries, with proper care, your new Thielemann product should last decades.
